Director - Hope Lines
Drawing inspiration from brilliant mockumentaries like “Cunk on Earth” and the extravagant flair of “Marie Antoinette,” our film, The Country Gentlewoman, confidently merges these elements into a flamboyant and entertaining Killer Comedy. We are thrilled to film at Chawton House, owned by the Knight family, who share a proud connection to Jane Austen. With all the props and costumes secured, we are fully prepared for this short film to be a resounding success.

In the Summer of 2024, Bridgerton fans eagerly awaited Season Three on Netflix. Given the similarities in tone and aesthetic between ‘The Country Gentlewoman’ and ‘Bridgerton,’ we could tap into this pre-existing fan base. Additionally, with the rise of “coquette-core” among millennials and Gen Z, our film's Georgian era aesthetic aligns perfectly, generating excitement among cinephiles who appreciate pastel opulence, reminiscent of Sofia Coppola’s ‘Marie Antoinette.’
